Traffic Signal Engineer, unemployed – a victim of the recent cut backs.

The government’s idea that public sector jobs should be picked up by the private sector is, to say the least, ridiculous. If there’s no money anywhere then how is a Council supposed to find funds to pay consultant rates? Of course the answer is they can’t, but the Government obviously believes in magic!! I was working for a multi-disciplinary consultant that has contracts with various councils across the country and they were finding it difficult to pick up work, hence why I was ‘let go’.

So, I spent a few months feeling sorry for myself, promising myself that tomorrow I’ll make a start on the stuff that I’ve put off over the past few years. But they remained on my “list”!

I started a 365 Photography Project and made it to August before I ran of things to photograph!  I’ve never been a big lover of pressure – it’s bad enough when it’s work, so why put you through it when it’s supposed to be fun.  So that fell by the wayside and has been replaced by a normal photo blog with no pressure to produce pictures unless I want to.

I also missed a couple of months on this blog due a temporary set-back.

UPDATE: 25 Jan 2012

Looks like work is finally sorted.  Contract is winging its way to me for signing then I’ll be starting on 20th February.  I’m not foreseeing that the work will affect the delivery of regular posts here; in fact I’m hoping it will provide some inspiration.  We shall see.
